June 2010: Benthanh Group has signed an important agreement with SAPA Profiles Holding AB Corporation
On the visit of Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Hoang Trung Hai, to the Kingdom of Norway in June, 2010, Ben Thanh has signed a important agreement with Norwagian SAPA Holding AB. CEO of Benthanh Group also attended the reception dinner hold by the Norwegian Minister of Commerce on June, 14th 2010.
On June, 15th 2010, by the witnesses of Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai and the Norwegian Ministry of Commerce, CEO of Benthanh Group has signed the principle agreement with Mr Svein Toreholsether - Chairman of Asia and Middle East Region of SAPA Profiles Holding AB - Kingdom of Sweden, at Vietnam–Norwegian Businesses Forum. This agreement is intent to invest, corporate and improve the output of Vijalco aluminum plant , one of Benthanh Group's member, in order to meet the high-quality standard and for the exports purpose.
HCMC-based Benthanh Group and Sapa Group agreed to upgrade the volume of their joint project to some 80,000-100,000 tons/year with total investment of US $13.6-million to produce high-quality aluminum products. On the other hand, two partners also have a plan to invest in a new plant of industrial and construction materials.
